New E500 Owner, want to do oil change, just want to confirm a few things
SubscribeHey guys,
I did some research, I'm going to buy a Mann oil filter and Mobil 1 0w-40 synthetic oil. I found two different Mann oil filters, can someone tell me which one I should buy?
Mann Paper Oil Filter - $5.94

Mann Polyester Oil Filter - $11.47

Also, can someone tell me the correct oil filter cap socket to buy?
Thank you!

Buy the one which is made of polyester.
I can't help you with the socket size for the oil filter, I use a strap wrench. I think the size is stated somewhere in the DIY oil change thread in this sub-forum.

This is where I go to get all my parts. Genuine Mercedes polyester filter. Don't forget to replace copper washer as well. I never reuse mine.

Get the oil good and hot, then take your time. It is a great opportunity to inspect the underside. I bond with my E quite a lot during this time
. I also like to let it drip for about 3 or more hours before putting new oil in.
