Anti Lockout Procedure
About a month after getting the E500 I misplaced my master key.
I kept a spare in the trunk going on the assumption that dialing MB Teleaid they could easily unlock my car. After 3 hours and numerous calls I checked into a hotel. The following morning after 3 calls I was able to get the deed accomplished.
Now, I had the dealer make a third master key. I have taken the Plastic head and left it in the trunk and now carry the metal key part in my wallet.
I know I am the only one that could do this bonehead feat but just in case there are others in waiting I share this tip.
