Blower Fan Chirp fix/repair?

Is removal of the blower fan (and replacement) necessary or did some of you find that lubrication was sufficient to get rid of a chirp? For those that simply lubricated to resolve, what product did you use? thx ... for reference, I'm driving 2006 E350 4matic ... with a chirping blower motor

On my 2003 E500, I removed the footwell cover on the passenger side below the glove box to gain access to the blower motor housing. Then remove 4 screws on the housing and the motor comes out. I lubricated the bearings on both ends of the motor with electrical contact spray lubricant by CRC. It hasn't squeaked since then; it's been almost 2 years.

My blower motor was replaced by the dealer (Ext Warranty) last month. I believe it is bearing noise.

After I had removed the foot well trim and taking note of the exact location "under" the bearing, I drilled a very tiny hole in the trim. Every 6 months when it squeaked, a quick blast of WD40 or silicone spray using the tiny plastic tube fixed it instantly!

If you plan to continue doing that consider using synthetic light wt oil and you might not need to do it again.

Mine chirped occasionally, but would every time I made a left turn. It was replaced by the dealership under the CPO warranty.
