Did I get a good price?............

Hello. I'm new to this forum, and to Mercedes. My wife and I ordered a 2004 E500 today, and the dealer said that there were two slots open for an October delivery (I hope that he was able to get one of them). He gave us $1k off of sticker. Is this good, or do I not want to know? Can you guys/gals please tell me what kind of deal that you got on yours? I don't know if this matters or not, but I live in the Chicagoland area. Thanks!

Did you get any actual prices for the 2004? I have not seen them posted anywhere yet and my dealer did not have them last week.

I would think $1,000. off on a new model year would be a pretty good deal. Later in the 2004 model year you should see better prices, but not at the start.

but i am sure MBUSA will not allocate as many E-classes to dealers as they did for 2003, therefore the current 2-3K under invoice deals will be no longer available..

I have a August 12 build date for sept. delivery on an e-500 with most options (appearance, avs, pano...) Price Invoice +500. I think the dealers are more nervous than we give them credit for. I think a better deal can be had.
Sorry....

Thumbs up

I agree that a grand off a $60,000+ car is way too little. The dealers make 4500.+ so I just divide it in half and then some. When we went down to deal with our dealer in Dec 02 for the 2003 car he knew that I knew what is deal was already and rather than fight over it he relented..........and then some.

NO matter what they tell you and they are masters of BS in their field they all have competition ala the 5 Series and Lexus and they do not want to lose a customer. That is the simple and true a statement as it gets........its your money and until you say I do
they do not Eat.

Derek.

as long as MB sells all of them without putting "money in the trunk" to move them, they will make them. Daimler can't afford to lose a single dollar of profit, have you seen what is happening with the Pacifica?

To be fair, the Pacifica had only loaded $40k+ models at intro, and slaes rebounded from 2k+ in May to 6k+ in June and July. A 2wd $31k unit is soon to be in dealers, all so far have been awd. It's an extremely nice car, I drove one and it is far ahead of Chrysler vehicles of old. Much of the switchgear looks like MB, the feel is German, nice NAV, very solid. If it wasn't so large (think LWB minivans but lower) there might be one in our garage but my wife does not like larger cars (even E's).
