W211 Fuses, Relays, SAM Modules chart

After hunting all over for a complete chart of all of the Fuse, Relay, and SAM module details including amperage and locations on my 2005 E55 AMG (W211), and not finding a nice concise chart, I wrote one. I hope you enjoy. (If you have corrections and/or additions, please PM me so I can update the file. Thanks.)

This link points to a two page PDF file which prints nicely for those who want to fold it up and keep it in the vehicle for future reference: http://kropf.net/w211/W211fuses.pdf

Jun 18 2019: I updated the .pdf file to include most relay numbers, and a few other edits.

My Sam doesn't have the 53a/b for the lighter. DOH

Tech-Tune 03-30-2013 10:36 AM

Would anyone happen to know if these are the same schematics for the CLS55?

aminis1 07-03-2013 04:19 AM

Thanks, but i can't find which is fuse located for Right hand side signal (located at fold mirror)

Great help:)

AMGAffalterbach 03-03-2014 03:13 PM

Oh man this would have helped when troubleshooting my HID power issue when I checked all of the fuses individually and reseated them, not a huge job just a pain in the a** if you it's your first time messing with electrical on the car. Does this apply to facelift W211s as well has anything changed?

Problem with false warning indicator

I have a 2005 E350. The warning system indicates 'check low coolant level'. The coolant level is fine. There is no loss of coolant. The engine temperature stays normal. I have replaced the sensor under the header tank to no avail. The agents say the front SAM unit must be replaced at great cost. Is there a relay or some other component that has failed and could be causing this? Originally the warning came on intermittently but is now on permanently.

The front SAM on the mbz does go out (if you get moisture inside), they all do. Depending on which 'SAM' you have 100-300 USED online. I might have one or 2, PM last 8.

Thanks for your response. I am in South Africa and this is a right hand drive car. Will yours be suitable and, if so, what would the price be?

E211 fuse - trunk not closing or lights

Lights in trunk and auto trunk shut don't work... Checked wiring and the only thing I think it could be is a fuse... I can still open from driver door and from outside trunk just a pain to have to go back in the car to shut the f'in trunk. Any ideas of a fuse that could be checked???

m3j0n 10-15-2015 01:56 PM

sorry if I missed it, but is there a fuse for the interior light for the trunk, or one for the electronic door handle? Those are the two items thtat are currently not functioning properly for me. THanks

Look very carefully at post !

W211 E55 AMG and non-AMG fuse and relay chart

18 Attachment(s)
Since I also saw the post referenced and this post while troubleshooting my E55, here is some additional information for this resurrected-from-the-dead thread. Some of this info is from recent threads, I don't have the details to credit the posters but my thanks to those who posted the information they had.

Front SAM:
Position kR in the first document is the air pump (non-AMG) or oil cooler fan relay (E55 AMG model).

Rear SAM:
Position kA in the first document is fuel pump relay (non-AMG) or heat exchanger coolant pump relay (E55 AMG).

2005 and 2006 E55 AMG only:
Model year 2005 has the fuel pump relay and fuse located on opposite side of trunk from the rear SAM; only accessible by removing the trunk panel; no access port.
The model year 2006 has two each fuel pump relays in the same location.

Model year 2005 and 2006 air pump relay and fuse are located on opposite side of trunk from the rear SAM adjacent to the fuel pump relay(s).

Early W211 E55's (model years 2003 and 2004) have fuel pump relay and fuse in same location as the 2005/2006 models but the air pump relay is located in engine compartment next to auxiliary battery.

Photos attached show location of model year 2005 E55 AMG air pump and fuel pump relay locations and what a bad fuel pump relay looks like.

Hey Gents... Command issue... Hoping for pointers.

Command had been working mostly... It would intermittently take a break after operating for a while and then power up later. This went from an hour of no tunes to 2-3 days of no command. Then no Command.

Fuses are all good.

Edit: power through the fuse... Even using a test light with an incandescent bulb so it will pull some power didn't sniff out the fuse that had high resistance on the blade of the fuse sending power to Command. Testing it again with low ambient light... What are these little arcs as I probe the fuse with the test light? Replace the fuse and problem solved.

Ahh the joys of intermittent electronic issues.

Still trying to find source of #4 cutting out with heavy load... Key off and runs again.

guys!!
which one is for front cigarette lighter?

konigstiger 01-29-2017 10:45 AM

Front SAM (engine compartment) 54a – FYI for constant power you can move fuse from 54a to 54b.
