Few Questions: Battery "Visit Workshop" Message and SBC Concerns

I purchased my '05 E320 less than a year ago at about 124k on the clock. Immediately after taking delivery, I had to replace the motor and transmission mounts. More recently at 138K, the main fuel pump went out and left me stranded on the freeway. I am fearful that much more is coming my way...

This morning, the red check battery "visit workshop" message popped up. Although this can be as simple as new battery, I am seeking to better understand what else could possibly go wrong. Prior to seeing this message this morning, I have been hearing buzzing/grumbling on light brake application more frequently. Could a battery message be somehow linked to a deeper SBC issue?

When the car is at a red light, I can hear a few clunkling noises coming from the passenger-side rear. Sounds like a hydraulic release valve of some sort. In addition to this clunking noise and the more frequent grumbling, I have had a recent instance where the pedal was slightly longer (almost like pad-knockback when racing).

Thanks in advance for all of the responses and suggestions.

The red "battery visit workshop" comes on only in the mornings every other day. Is this anyway related to more frequent noise from the SBC?

I recommend verify voltage entine off on your aux, bat,, If below 12.2 engine off it is probably bad.

Thanks vettdvr, I measured at 10.4V and went ahead an replaced it with an Autozone AGM battery.

However, my SBC is still buzzing at almost every stoplight. Is this normal?

It is not unusual to have the SBC buzz a lot

Every few pedal pushes will result in the SBC pumping up the pressure vessel. "get used to it". You can have the vibration/resonating minimized. The SBC threads discuss how. It may have already been done on your car.

Is it normal for the brake pedal to travel further when the car is on a hill with the SBC activated? Typically, a bad master cylinder that is leaking would have a long pedal that goes to the floor, but this issue only occurs intermittently. This is my first car with SBC and never had this long pedal feel with other cars I have owned, even those with a failing master cylinder.
