Run Flats on W211
 
My 06 E350 has 98K and due for new rubber. I'm tempted by the Pilot AS ZF run flats. Does anyone have experience with using run flat ties in general as replacements ? I live in the northeast where bad roads are the norm and stopping to change a tire can be dangerous.

It is dangerous to run run flats w/o a TPS. W/O TPS if you have a flat you would not know it by looking, continue driving and then the tire would eventually fail. If you put a TPS on your car then it would be ok. I run Michelin's Run Flats on my Corvette, but it does have a TPS factory system.

Those are ZP = zero pressure = runflat. I had pilot sport 2 ZP on my BMW and "normal" pilot sport 2 on my Benz both staggard 18". I gave my opinion earlier today

Run-flat tires cost more, get less MPG, less grip, wear faster, rider harder etc. I had RFT on my BMW first OE Bridgestone - lasted 7500 miles, then Michelin PS2 (I also had the non-RFT on my Benz and liked, but hated in RFT on the BMW). So happy when the RFT-PS2 wore out after 13k miles so I could get some non RFT.

Not worth the extra cost in my opinion. I would go with a regular set of Michelin Pilot A/S 3s or for summers Michelin Pilot Super Sports.

Got the AS3 tires. They are solid and a smooth ride. Thanks for the good advice.
