e320 bluetec 642 oil leak

Hello, I am new to this forum. always searched around it for irregular issues and almost always had an answer thanks to you guys.

I have a wierd oil leak coming out of a hole on the block that sits behind the AC compressor. My dealer cannot explain to me what this is or why there is oil coming from there, there is no threads or any sign that a component is suppose to be there. This customer is getting very frustrated and so am I. I am hoping someone on here knows what i am talking about. I hope this isnt a crazy issue to solve.

Thanks in advance for any input,
Diogo

Car free at the moment
It is almost certainly the seals on the oil cooler. The oil cooler sits in the "V" of the block. The parts required to repair are not expensive, but the quantity of labor is significant. In the U.S. this repair costs a minimum of $2,000.

that was my first guess because it looked like the oil was running down the side of the tensioner right to where the oil is. If you remove the AC compressor there is a hole on the block with no purpose and thats where its leaking. If no answers on here soon i am going to JB weld it shut monday. last case scenario though I really want to know what this hole is......

While they're in there, you probably want to replace the inlet port shutoff motor. It's going to break soon if it hasn't already. Another case of the parts not expensive, but 10 or 12 hours of labor is.

What year and how many miles on the clock? I've recently started driving mine for my daily commute and want to be prepared.

Well, lets assume it is weep hole for the V of the engine where the cooler is, and you epoxy it up?

What will be the result?

If it an oil galley plug that is seeping then maybe your suggestion is OK< but why not tap and plug it properly.

Seems either way, I would want to find out what the real issue is before slapping on some JB

i just finished doing the oil cooler seals just waiting on intake mani gaskets. i will keep you posted if it is a drain out. i know it has a drain in the back, but i have never seen mercedes put a drain in the front of the engine. Which is why i am scractching my head about it so much.

All Servicing and Benz legal stuff: Cherry Hill MB (They wont touch aftermarket stuff)

Suspension work part1: Imagine Audio, Cherry Hill: Installed B16iRC shocks (fantastic job) (Final lowering and setting was done by me)

Suspension work part2: Mill Street Tires, Moorestown NJ: K-Mac adjustable bushings (front and rear for camber/toe) install, computer alignment (to Benz specs), low profile tires, balancing etc. Amazing work

Audio work, including recent Focals 165 KRX2's front and rear doors: Imagine Audio, Cherry Hill.

I am extremely particular about quality of work. don't care what it costs (even my wife knows that), especially work that needs a lift, special tools or more than one person. it's got to be done 200% right, no damage, my paintwork needs to be left unmarked (no they are not allowed to clean or wash the vehicle, I'm a bit about that).

ok, so update is, 642 has a drain for the top of the engine next to the A/C compressor.... leaks are all gone. Now i just have a problem with no power. Which i am 90% sure it is due to carbon build up on the flaps of the intake manifold. 170,xxx miles of cheap diesel FML 642 engines are horrible and recommend no one to own.
