This car I have for years and it ran every now and then in a emergency running, if that’s the name for a car that won’t accelerate, but after restarting the engine runs normally. Apparently the ¨catalyst¨ in the exhaust was emptied a few years ago, my garage showed me this and in hindsight that isn’t a smart thing to do. This garage also removed the „front part” of the exhaust (also a catalyst and lambda of the car), but this made the problem worse and the car is now in a constant ¨emergency state¨, but this also was done because in previous cars it’s a normal thing to do and gives no significant problems. But the problem got worse and now, after a few miles without problems or warnings, the car does not want to excellerate and after restarting it sometimes still is in a emergency state.

I Don’t know if this is the front part is the lambda probe or something else that was removed, but the problem is now bigger than ever. The error codes are gone, i’ve replaced the ¨air mass meter¨ and EGR that gave wrong values, replaced an injector that had a tear and the ring was broken, but the problem is still there!

Instead of replacing the parts of the exhaust (around € 1000 with labor), I went to a tuner which disabled a bunch of things in the car, the EGR and DPF are shut and the turbo pressure reduced because there was an error after tuning. The tuning gave an extra of 70 newton m’s and 35 HP to switch, but unfortunately the problem came back again on the highway. This while the car was neatly around the 40 and 80 degrees, no error codes in the dashboard or any warnings before hand.

A dealer in Italy wanted to replace 4 new injectors for € 1800 because the would be the problem, according to them that was the problem, but one of the injectors was already replaced and the others were fine. The tuners have never had this problem before and called more tuners to see if they’ve ever heard about this. I would like to know if anyone really knows what’s going on, what could be the problem with this car, when the problem area’s have been shut down by tuners and it still goes into an emergency state. Perhaps here more success. Hope that anyone can provide information to eradicate this problem and ps: I’ll be back with the answer if it is ever found …
