I agree that it is an RF ID tag. I think that the dealer may use it to ID the car electronically and match it up with your service technician when you pull into the service area.

It's the antenna for your garage door feature in your mirror. You shouldn't throw it away since if you sell the car the new owner will likely want that feature. It just sticks to the top left side of the mirror above where your buttons are. You can either use a clear adhesive of just some clear shipping tape cut to size to stick it back down.
