e550 4matic motor mounts
Hey guys is the procedure for the 4matic the same as the rwd variant? I'm looking to do motor mounts and was just curious if they could also be done by just jacking up the motor a few inches and sliding them out?

You can't remove the top mount bolt due to the clearance between the engine mount and exhaust manifold. check yours to be sure,, You may have to remove the exhaust manifold also.

All I had to do for mine was jack the engine up slowly until I had space to remove driver's side. Took me about 30min to do both of them. Not sure if 550s are different though.

Well, decided to go out today and pop the hood and see what we could come up with. It appears that I will have plenty of room to get to the top bolt from above with a couple of extensions and removal of the air filter housing/engine cover.
