18's on E350

noticed the W211 e63 has 18s on it, wondering if could put 18s on e350 without much change to the ride.

was thinking about, if possible, getting the c63 16 spoke alloys on it. would be quite sweet : )

feedback, thoughts.. cheers

Swapping one set of 18" wheels for another will yield pretty much identical rides, assuming the tires are also similar sizes. The only things you will need to take into consideration are offsets.

You need to consider the type of driving you do, and even more importantly, the quality of the roads you drive. I have a set of staggered 18s with summer tires, and they're fine. I also have a set of non-staggered 18s for winter, but with the crappy roads here, and how badly winters here destroy them, I'd really like to get a set of 17s for my snow tires.

Here is your answer------ I just had a set of C63 rims on my E63, the front offset needs spacers to bring the wheel out a tad, and the rears actually don't they sit out too much. Made the stance wider, but I didn't like it. I like them to sit flush.

Here is an option if you want staggered 18's.Guys, when I had my E350 Sport I put on a set of SL wheels. I then took my factory 10 spoke and sanded down all scuffs or marks and then painted Duplicolor Gunmetal Grey. Then I had a custom shop spray clear with a paint gun rather than do a shoty job clearing it myself. SO ALL spokes inside and out are cleared along with the barrel etc.... Professionally painted. I am wondering what they might be worth. Shipping will be a pain, but thinking someone might be able to use them for Winter rims etc...... They are I think 18x8 and 18x9 sports. Might be 8.5 in the front. They take OEM tire size for E63's. Anyway here are some pics before I stripped them and redid all the work. I have none of the actual wheels at the moment, and they are in storage. I have no need and would like them to go to a good home so want some thoughts.

The color is identical, just now they have good clear coat all over them. http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/102...910/yzLzoF.jpg

ok so running the c63s 16 spoke 18' alloys they would be staggered at the rear?

and would affect the handling considerably ?

im driving in very nice weather most of the year, some heavy rain occasionally.. no snow

1. Yes all of Mercs 18's are staggered, they run 245-40-18 and rears are 265-35-18.

2. NO handling issues changed at all.

3. Weather plays no part in this decision. Your Tires are what matters pending what type weather you have. Michelin PSS are not good below 50 degrees, but the ultimate above.
4. Honestly unless you are getting a killer deal on the rims, start perusing the AMG w211 forums and try picking up a set there. Get the OEM E63 rims, you will be happier due to the slight offsets on the front and rear. Its the look.

5. question--- do you just want to go to 18's staggered or do you want specifically the 63 designed wheels.

specifically wanted

2012+ c63 16 spoke 18' wheels

I have no idea on those. You need to check your factory rim offsets, the 18's like mine, the E63 rim offsets. Then compare those to the C63 16 spoke ones. Then see from there.

ok will do, thanks !
