Not sure what happened, 2003 e500
 

I drove over about a foot and a half of water and my car turned off, I was able to turn it back on right away and the car is running fine, what exactly could have happened to cause it to turn off? 2003 e500

Hey Sherlock-----MB's like other cars don't like being shorted out by water. You were very lucky!! Remember you own a car not a boat!!

like Plutoe said...you are VERY lucky! more often than not when you drive your car into a flooded street, you dont try to turn the ignition straight away after it shuts off by itself. you probably just saved yourself a few hundreds if not thousands.

IF you get water in the grill it is possible to have water ingestion and repairs would be engine R and R.
