W211 Car audio upgrade
This is just a post for anyone that whats to upgrade the car audio system in their W211.
You can absolutely upgrade your system and put a double din, you just have to put a new amp in your car (you can also keep your original speakers if you want). Since your putting a new amp, you bypass the fiber optic system.

The best amp (for me at least) is the Alpine 5 channel amp PDX-V9
this amp is small, amazingly powerful and can do a full system including subwoofer
4 channels x 100 RMS (for all your speakers)
1 x 500 RMS (for the subwoofer)
The RMS is alwasy tested higher that whats on the box
My system is 2 sets of Focal KRX 2 speakers for front and rear
and 10w3v3 Subwoofer all run off the alpine
