To anyone who is considering this upgrade, I think it definitely enhances the aesthetics of the interior. The installation was quick (less than an hour) and total cost including installation was $760 plus taxes.
If you can rationalize the price, then it's certainly worth putting the wood wheel. It looks very sharp. I'm sure several other members who have upgraded would agree.

Damn it anyway!!!! I think I feel about $800.00 lighter and I don't even have my ride yet..... Nice report and pictures. The wheel definatly makes a statement and I'll be upgrading for sure...

I know this thread is about upgrading, however for those who want the wood wheel when ordering a car new the appearance is slightly different. As discussed previously, when you upgade only the wheel itself is supplied without the center cushion. Therefore the dealer must reinstall the center portion of your current wheel. However when your request is included in a new car order the factory installs a new wheel in its entirety inclusive of a stitched leather center.

I've posted a couple of pictures of the standard all leather wheel that came with the car and wood/leather wheel I got recently. The car interior is Stone and the wood is Black maple. Hope the following link works.

Only the ring is replaced. The center piece that includes the air bag remains as is.
