W211 E320 CDI Serious Vibration problems!!! need some expert help!!
So I drive a 2003 E320 CDI with over 120 000 miles on it. the car drives perfectly, but there's this vibration. By perfectly i mean no power loss, perfect shifting and so on. BOTH OF ENGINE MOUNTS AND THE TRANSMISSION MOUNTS HAVE BEEN REPLACED!!! The engine oil level is ok, no problems with exhaust and no codes regarding this issue, the car has been checked by a diesel specialist: no problems with the engine. the fuel system is also fine.
when i start the car in the morning high vibrations can be felt when the P and N gear is selected. as soon as i shift to D the real vibrations kick in. The vibrations fade out but are still noticeable in N when warm. But whats most surprising is that there are no vibrations in R. So no vibrations in R, high vibrations in P and N and extreme vibrations in D. i was told that if it was the torque converter that caused so much vibrations the tranny oil pump would fail and leak oil but no such thing. right now im desperate and looking for some advises. thank you in advance |
We simply put cars on lifts and then while underneath and running in gear spend an hour or so locating the so called vibration!!
