Pothole- inner tie rod
 

My wife hit a pothole with her 2008 E350 (base model) and the dealer indicated it bent the inner tie rod (driver's side). The dealer wants $3500 to repair / replace the entire rack. They indicate they only replace as an entire assembly.
I've checked with Meineke and they indicate they will replace the inner tie rod / align for under $400.
What am I missing? What is my exposure?

Any insight would be appreciated.
