Spring installed incorrectly?

Spring installed incorrectly?
Posting for a friend...
Took my car for an aligment last week becuase its riding on the outside front tires for some reason.
About 3 years ago, one spring broke so I had to replace both front springs and both front shocks.
Anyways, 10 mins into the 4 Wheel alignment, guy calls me down and says he cant do the alignment becuase when I had springs work done, the guy did it incorrectly and put the small metal piece upside down.
the small metal round piece he is talking about is in the picture attached and I indicated with an arrow. He said thats why the front is riding higher and riding on its front toes. He said you should correct this first, so I left.
Before I call and yell at my mechanic, I googled some pics and it looks like it was installed correctly.
See pic. Can you check if your car has a similar setup with that piece under the spring?
