E550 engine swap with a M113K from a E55 has it been done
so I can get my hands on a E55 motor/tranny etc for a good price.Ins total loss and I can buy it for cheep before it goes to the scrap yard.Is that something that can be done fairly easy or no?If someone has done it please chime in

E550? I don't think so, that's the newer generation of W211, alot of the modules in the car are different. An E500 yes, you would need the front and rear subframes (and their respective arms and what not), engine and gearbox and their respective cooling and accessories.
What you need most importantly is the ECU, TCU, key, ignition, gear shift knob and steering column module from the same car, they're VIN tied to each other. I think the TCU isn't and maybe the gear shifter isn't either but the ECU, ignition and key and definitely needed.
It's been done before but why do you wanna do this, honestly it's much much much much easier to sell your car and get an E55. They're SOOOOO cheap now over there so what's the point. You'll just waste time and money.
