CF Hoods...

Okay please no flames. I am jus wondering for those of you hardcore performance W211 bubbas...is there any interest in CF hoods for the W211's? Jus wonderin...And once again no flames. I jus want to see if you guys are interested. Prices are TBD...I'm doubtin you guys will be interested but who knows. I was planning on getting one and painting it the exact same color of the car to get rid of the rice factor...

Sorry, I'm not interested, but I say that'd be a very cool mod. Seems like most of the peeps on this board are on the "conservative" side when it comes to mods.

Owning a Miata, there's a million and a half things to buy for the car. Superchargers and turbos - big market (relatively speaking), CF hoods, intake ducts, intakes, etc. But then again, replacing the motor on a Miata is probably a helluva lot cheaper than one on an E320.

Totally agree with you. I saw the cf hood on a white e55 before and it jus hit my mind. I'm just trying to save weight, that is all. At first I wasn't going to post because I thought people would think I was a ricer for ever thinking of a cf hood on a car like the W211. I know I am very fortunate to be drivin a car of this calibur at such a young age. At the same time, I know that most of the W211 owners are very "conservative" and don't want to go modding their cars to the max like others. Thanks for the thoughts though...

I paid at cost for the kit becaus I got sponsored by them. I got the kit directly from the warehouse up in the Bay Area. If I'm not mistaken I think the kit retailed for 2500? Not too sure. Don't quote me on it. Oh BTW you need the W211 sport bumpers for the wald kit to fit. It will not fit on any of the other bumpers. Where are you from? If you go to their site www.waldusa.com you can go to the directory and see which places sell it. Hope this helps...

I think its a great great IDEA. I had it on my Lexus Before and boy did it save me alot of Weight. I Had it custome painted on the side curve with the same factory color and the middle was CF. It looked really clean and sporty. My only concern is that Due to the light weight of CF hoods, a lot of ppl have hood pins. At first I told everybody that i would never get hood pins due to the fact that it does make it look ricey and not as sporty. But after many bad experience and concerns, i had to get the hood pins. Keep in mind that CF hood are light, so that it allows the car to go faster. Make sure that the hood is installed correctly and that there are latch of the CF hood is attached corrrectly to the CAr. The last thing you want is for your CF hood to butterfly in your winshield. That really sucks, and trust me, you dont want to experience that.......

personally, I would get the hood and put it on w/o painting just to see how it would look- i've seen cf hoods on benzs' before they look pretty pimp, even though it may not suit everyone's tastes- I think it was a carlsson c-class, not sure, but it was silver, and the hood looked really cool, also unique (I think it had the pins on it, too). So, I'd say try it w/o paint, and if you don't like it, go ahead and paint it silver.

btw, how do you get sponsered???
