2003 W211 E320
2003 E320 AC changed compressor now AC off light stays on

I bought a 2003 E320 with a broken pulley on the AC compressor. So I got a compressor from the junkyard (a known working one according to them). It came with the oil drained so I put in new compressor oil and I installed the compressor. I pulled evacuated the system with vacuum on it for an hour and it held the vacuum. Then I put in the freon and it fills up to 80PSI from the tank. I am using a 30lb r134a tank with a manifold gauge set to recharged it. The compressor wont work though the light flashes AC off inside and the freon pressure levels dont change. Is it because I have not put in enough freon?

You should put R134a refrigerant, not Freon in the system.
In order to charge the system fully you need the compressor to suck the refrigerant from the tank and the best way is to it by weight as with variable output compressors the pressure is not giving good accuracy.
Is your car having 2-zone system with buttons only, or 4-zone with LCD display?
On the 2nd you can access sensors and errors while with first one you need SD or other scanner.
Sounds like you have compressor error in memory and that needs to be cleared.
Compressor should start at 60psi the tank is usually giving.

Evacuated the system today and filled it with 2.2lbs of r134a. 2 zone system with buttons only. I will take it to someone with a scanner today and have them read and reset the codes.

Also by freon I meant r134a. I evacuated it so I could put in exact amounts this second round.

You could have a collapsed line, and or your compressor actually doesn't work..... If your pressures don't change then i would lean more to a line being messed up. What are your gauges reading during all of this?
