Electrical Malfunction?
I am having issues with this malfunction notice coming up on the screen, I am not having any problems with starting or any other electrical components. I have just purchased this car and its in mint condition but was stored in a garage for 1 year. What could it be. The car is a 2002 E240 Elegance. Thanks for any help.

Main battery voltage has dropped below treshold and this caused some electrical devices disabled. Check you (main) battery health, followed by alternator charge rate. Or simply wait till car charges battery full, if not cured, as above.

Bad battery. If it sat for that long, even with a trickle on it, the battery will lose its amps. The reason its telling you it shut the consumers off is because the car can't charge the battery well enough to power those accessories.

I will have to take the car for a new battery as the expiry on the battery itself says 2014. Thanks for the help.

Not only with SBC you have 2 batteries to check, but W211 proved to be very sensitive to voltage drop on any loose connection.
Battery testing is the easiest thing to start, if you have load tester and know how to use it.

I am hoping it's just a bad battery and I won't have to replace the battery control module.
