Rain sensor problems

My rain sensors seem not to work when set to position 1 on the stalk. I have noticed the windshield that is fitted is not factory as there are no markers or emblems for Mercedes. So my question is, could it be the windshield or the sensor that needs replacing. My auto lights still work fine but it's just the wipers which are annoying to say the least. I am needing a new stalk soon anyway as it doesn't return back to position after indicating.
Thanks

I just had my windshield replaced and the rain sensor did not work. I had to reset the sensor as per the attachment. You can do this with the drivers side window open, just make sure the door is closed.

Could also be the rain sensor was not attached properly with the new windshield. When I had my w203 windshield replaced the shop told me that they had to fix other shops bad installations all the time for rain sensors. Mine honestly worked better with the replacement windshield then the original one.

The rain sensor does not look right in the windshield, It look's like they have some sort of coating or glue along the edges inside. I was going to take it to a MB dealer but I think I might just take a trip to my local glass fitter.
