Battery leak
Hi,
I have a battery leak in my W211 E320 petrol model.
New batteries front and back.
But tell me, what is this extra wiring (slim black and red wires, and go into the trunk inside a black tubing (arrow) ? Is that something from the factory or is this perhaps for some extra equipment (that I am not aware of). Thinking about removing this wire to see if the battery drain stops...

That looks like add-on, but fact is that MB are produced with many options for many markets and often wire harness has lot of loose wires you will never figure out.
Whenever i wanted hot wire for trailer converter, I was always able to find one in the trunk .
