2007 e320 Bluetec new owner
I just purchased a 2007 W211 Bluetec with 106k miles that was kept up with regular maintenance. I am going to go for a long joy ride and set it up to my liking today.
I did notice there is a big black bluetooth puck in the center console.. I wonder if I am able to stream music from this or will I still need to rig it to do that? -I know there are a ton of threads out there regarding this. I'll have to research that.
The car isn't perfect, on the driver side the sun visor cap is broken, and on the passenger side the sun visor light wont turn on. Also, the rear sunshade doesn't go up when pressing the button. All I hear is a very faint click.
The outside is in pretty good shape. I will have to polish the headlights to make them 100% clear, but other than that its good to go.

CONGRATULATIONS on the new ride, do show us some pictures.
Depending on what you paid, sounds like you got a very nice ride with very low miles for a diesel.
In regards to the sun visor light, I had the same issue which is super easy to fix and super cheap.
Obviously you want to ensure first that the bulb is still good in the overhead light. If yes, pop the mirror GENTLY out of the visor. Behind it you will find a little tiny switch that activates the light when the mirror is opened. That switch might be bad and it was super cheap at the dealership and in stock.
GOOD LUCK.

Congratulation on good drive.
Per my knowledge Bluetooth will not give you music option, but worth checking.
I am parting out 2008 car, so PM if you want some parts.
Talking about sunvisor lamps - I replaced 3 switches on 2 of W211, so call it common issue.
Some replacement come from 25 years old W124. Some size switches, but the old one last

The bluetooth puck only does voice calls. For streaming, either get an adapter or if you have the ipod cable, just use an ipod. I just use a 4th gen ipod touch and sync it with spotify. I just leave it in the glove box all the time. I actually like that set up better than streaming via bluetooth on my phone in my W212, it's problematic when you get phone call and starting/stopping it is an issue.
As for the sunshade, that's somewhat common, might just need lubrication, try giving it a tap after you have someone hit the button, sometimes it just gets a little stuck.

Wow, I'm impressed. I drove 5 hours today for a joy ride along the coast and was getting 34mpg. It drives very well and smooth and the sound is great. The diesel gauge barely moved.
As far as the rear sun shade.. I am not too worried, if it were working I don't think I'd be using it much. The car has tint on it and that is plenty enough for me. However, I did hit from underneath in the trunk and then pressed the button and nothing happened. Where should I be tapping?
Anyhow, I did try to get my phone connected for 20mins with no luck. Is there a special trick? I press TEL on the head unit and then I press it again it it starts SEARCHING. On my Samsung galaxy s5 I turn bluetooth and and make it visible to all devices... but nothing. I see the blue light blinking in the center console.
I took my wife out to dinner and took the longest route there and back and she really likes the car.
This weekend I will clean the interior. It looks like a female driver owned the car previously because there is makeup spots here and there. I will try and vacuum the ceiling/sun visor area and hope that'll suck most of it out. The small spots of makeup on some buttons/steering wheel should easily come off with a slightly damp towel.
Once she's clean I will look into fixing the sun visor light and replacing the flap for the mirror and go from there.
I'm nervous about filling her up.. I have never filled up a diesel before. My dad told me when he had his diesel the diesel pumps had gloves on them so you wouldn't get your hands dirty(40 years ago).. HAHA times have changed?

Do you guys keep the decals on the trunk of the model? I took them off on my previous car.. not sure if I should remove them or keep them this time? Both looks appeal to me now.

Since I have a diesel it has decals on the both sides... Not sure if I should take both off, leave both or just remove the e320?
Oh and the Star should NEVER be removed.

Only you can be the judge of what you like best. For whatever it is worth, ....... IMO, I would either remove BOTH, or leave BOTH on, as is.
I think if you only remove either one, it will look odd again and not symetrical.
Might not look all that odd with badges on either side, I removed mine because of the odd/not even/not symetrical look.
AGREED, ........ NEVER remove the star!!!!!!

I just leave it stock, both have the badges on it. Around here, it's strange to see one without it.
As for the star, after I snapped mine off on the hood while clearing snow, I even paid another $40 to buy another one to replace it, got too used to seeing it on the hood.

Even after that, sometimes getting the connection is hard. Once I have paired, though, turning off the car and then restarting it with the phone in range brings it right in. You will then see a solid light on the puck rather than a blinking one. After that, the telephone buttons work great.

Sounds like you are not pairing. Rather than going through the buttons on the wheel, I ordinarily start by pressing the button on the puck so that the light blinks and then go through the pairing process on my phone. The 5 digit code for those pucks is the numerical equivalent of MBUSA, when you get asked for that.

never mind. I searched on google and found out the button does not look like a button! I will try again pairing my phone shortly. Is the bluetooth code 62872?

The good news is I figured out how to pair my phone to the car. The bad news is I noticed the car is leaking oil. I am pretty upset. I went back to the dealership but since the service dept is closed they told me to come back tomorrow.
In the meanwhile I am going to buy some oil to keep it topped off. I will have to look up what kind of oil is recommended.

Interestingly enough.. the oil is filled to the max.. starting to wonder if maybe its not leaking engine oil.. but tranny oil?
The liquid on the ground is pitch black... not a dark green from when I check the dip stick. ?? I drove my car up my ramps and wasn't able to locate where the leak is coming from, but it definitely is coming from behind the middle of the engine.. pretty much right under my navigation

Could be the oil cooler. Oil weeps through a drain hole between the engine and the transmission. Check the turbo inlet for oil.

I am totally ignorant about diesels, but I would think that this engine might have cam plugs, just like the gasoline ones? If they do and that is the problem, it is a very easy fix.

I'm worried that if the atf is leaking... then the tranny might be running dry!? The car is shifting like butter right now and there are no symptoms..
