Anyone interested in factory CD changer?
Hi... I just ordered the Eclipse AVN DVD navigation head unit for my E500. After looking at prices of the Command unit and whats out there in terms of aftermarket navigation, I settled on the new double DIN Eclipse AVN unit. 6.5" in dash screen that plays CDs, MP3s, DVD movies, while incorporating on of the best navigations on the market. Fujitsu Ten makes the Eclipse unit, Fujitsu's navigation can be found on all Lexus navigation units. Ive had MBZ navi in past vehicles and have found that it is often inaccurate. While the navi in my old GS400 was seldom wrong and very accurate, therefore I feel for the price the Eclipse AVN is probably one of the best aftermarket units available.
Which brings me to my other probem. I got a 8 disc traditional changer with the AVN, and will also integrate remote functions via the steering wheel. I wont have use for the MBZ in dash CD changer that is located in the popup compartment under the stereo. Anyone interested in this? I know the dealer sells it for around $400 but its another $150 for all the harnesses, plugs, and screws which I have. I paid like $400 to have it installed.
