'07 Bluetec rebuild cost

Hello All,

I ran across an ad for a 2007 E320 Bluetec with a bad motor and wanted to get an idea of the cost of a rebuild. Apparently the orig owner was a knucklehead and never changed the oil during the first 40k miles. The car's got 66k on it and looks very clean. Assuming it's not seized I'd guess this would mean replacing bearings/rings and polishing crank journals and possibly honing the cylinders if they're scuffed. Anyone ever rebuild one of these 3 liter mills?

The four camshaft's bearings are integral part of cylinder heads and valve covers so it could be little more complicated.

Used BlueTec engines for sale can be found. Quick search resulted in price range anywhere from just under $3000 to 7000

What is the asking price of the 2007 E320 less engine?
I suppose core value of the "bad engine" is close to 0 until rebuild shop determines if it's worth rebuilding or not?
