ESP malfunction, Car too low, won’t start
I just bought a 2003 e500 and it doesnt want to start. it has power and all of the lights seem to work, but when it should crank, nothing happens. Also, it is totally lowered down, like the suspension isnt work or something. It is still on the trailer so I tried to raise it by pumping air directly but it wouldnt hold air. Then I found that airmatic airline/hose is cut in two pieces in the back right between back wheels. I am guessing that is the reason why it wont pump up, but would that make all four wheels stay super low & not let the car start?

The airmatic suspension system has nothing to do with why the car will not start.. Try jump starting the vehicle or do some more diagnosis as to what the issue is. and yes, that is why the car will not raise up.. If it was leaking like that because it was cut, it could have killed your airmatic pump. Check the fuse and relay for that system.

Start with the basics Batteries (front and rear) what is the voltage? If battery passes agree with CMRIV, bad key,if that isn't,the issue EIS, or starter. Good luck with your purchase.

I have issues assuming people start with basics before resorting to the world wibe web... He is correct, make sure batteries are sufficient.
You can add failed driver SAM/open starter wire/or something taking CAN down to the list. Those are after all the above have been diagnosed as "working as designed"....
