Distronic Retrofit W211
Hi folks. Long-time lurker, first post here.
Thanks to everyone for assembling such a great resource for W211 owners.
I have an '04 4matic E320 wagon, which we did not option with distronic, much to our regret today.
I have located a few kits or the parts for sale separately and am ready to pull the trigger. As far as I can see the easiest part is mounting the sensor in the grille and from there on it gets tricky. To my understanding, the wiring harness needs to be fed into the passenger cabin and then linked up with the distronic control unit... which leads to my first question: where does the computer live? I assume I'll need to purchase the control unit, but where exactly should I install it/how? Does anyone by any chance have an installation guide?
