Conv featues offf/ car surges
Ive seen several posts on this but never seem to find a resolution.... i have a 2006 e 350. Replaced alt, both batteries ... immediately after you can feel the engine slightly surge and shift gears hard and sluggish on take off..... now 30 days later the “conv features turned off” light comes back on.... new alt only puts out 12 amps... not fully charging.... mechanic wont replace the alt, says its an electrical issue .... anyone have similar issues?? Had regulator checked and its fully functioning...

I'm not sure if your year still has a battery control module. The other possibility is that it's the wrong alternator. There's several that seem to fit but I recall some old threads where the wrong alternator was put in and they still had problems. You could also take out both batteries and put them on a charger. They may not have been fully charged when you put them in. I think for the aux battery it only charges it for a 1/2 hour and then stops.
