secondary air pump issue

Pump was not working it seized up i opened it up cleaned and lubricated it tested it 12v and it worked. 40A fuse was bad so i replaced it and waited for the car to cool down. Upon starting it few seconds in fuse brakes i tried another one it also brakes. Could this be short somewhere or is the pump just bad

Did you check the relay? If not, try google searching for the secondary air relay. I believe the part is made by Hella.

I tried the relay on to my other w211 and it works so it's not the relay. Pump does not attempt to do anything fuse just pops. I am thinking to take the pump from my other e500 and see if it will work

Good thinking. Won't cost you anything to test the other air pump. By any chance, would you happen to have the part numbers for the small vacuum hoses that connect the two valves?
