Rattle noise from Dash area

Rattle noise from Dash area
(Sorry for this "non-emergency" posting.)
Our beloved W211 has developed an annoying rattle...almost sounds like a "buzzing" sound, like a couple of coins rattling around in a coffee can.
The sound seems to be in "reaction" to rough road surfaces. Any imperfections in the tarmac surface seems to provoke it.
Now, here's where my spouse and I differ: I think the noise is emanating from the dash area...above the NAVI screen...maybe from the air vents. She thinks its emanating from "the driver's side area". At a minimum, the rattle is hard to target. (FWIW, I've checked the console and glove box for culprits...no luck though.)
Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Rattles are really hard to pinpoint. I sometimes get a rattle from the front driver's side area, and I figured out that readjusting the height of the seat belt there solved it-just a nudge up or down.

I had the same kind of rattle the other day taking my granddaughter to school. I thought it was the dash. My GD said its was the visor on the passenger side. I moved it down and the rattle stopped. Moved it back up and the rattle returned. I moved it just enough to stop the noise.

Better stock up on some more self adhesive felt pads, haha. Hobby and craft stores have it (albeit in different shapes and colors). I just cut them down as needed.
