Soaked floors/damp A pillar after heavy rains

So I got out to my car this morning after some pretty heavy rains last night and there was a good amount of water in both front footwells. Felt the A pillars and they were damp as well so the leak has got to start with the sunroof.

I tried my hand at bulletin 2007010002 but honestly once I got the fender liner pulled back I couldn’t find where the water was supposed to be draining from
https://www.benzworld.org/forums/att...2007010002.pdf

i poured water in the sunroof track and it appeared most of it poured out of the bottom of the car but then when I opened the door it was leaking out of the bottom outer edge of the dash and eventually wet spot appeared in the A pillar. There was also a spot of water at the corner of the sunroof so I may have poured water where it wouldn’t normally get when the sunroof is shut

so I’m not quite sure where to go from here. I’ve only had the car about 6 weeks and it’s definitely rained hard in that time and I haven’t noticed any leaks. Maybe the car was at just the wrong angle to drain properly? I did clear a few leaves from the cowl area but nothing really that seemed it could cause any blockage. Seems possibly the drain tubes are cracked? Is that common at all?

It’s forecasted to pour here tomorrow. Part of me wants to let it sit outside and see if it happens again and but then if it does I’d hate for it to cause some electrical issue

any help would be appreciated

The H2O will fill up under the passenger footwell, and the SAM resides there. Some bits will clog the holes, but I'd get a can of air, and stovepipes (cigars). A tarp would be optional for short term.

2013 E350 Wagon
A very similar thing happened to my 2013 E350 wagon. A small leak by the passenger sun visor and a-pillar was noted. After cleaning out the sunroof drain tubes the leak persisted. Turns out the windshield itself had become separated from the passenger corner to the rear view mirror. I had a trusted glass specialist remove the windshield and re-urethane it back on. Haven't had a problem with water coming in since.

I am going through the whole thing as you did.

I actually bought the replacements parts, but the whole hose needs to be replaced. Anyone know if this is even doable? I’ve seen it done on w124’s but no one replacing this on a w211.

if anyone has a WIS i would appreciate it.

Interested as well. my driver side repair has held up nicely but i still get a small leak in the passenger side in heavy rains. I thought about replacing with the original hose instead of splicing 2 together but threading it down the A-pillar seems kind've tough. please let me know what you find out.

The only thing I’ve found is this approach - sorry for the post of another forum. It can be removed if wanted.

aside from this I have not found a thing on WIS for an official procedure.

Doubt hose replacement is DIY or needs replacement. Remove A-pillar (start at top), sun visor, grab handle and lower headliner allowing enough room to check hose connection @ sunroof on affected side.

Maybe you haven’t read the post through... the top fittings that attach into the sunroof drip tray have cracks. It has nothing to do with clogged drains...

If I understand correctly you're inquiring about hose replacement. Photo depicts routing, headliner needs to be lowered to gain access to drain hose attachment.

So I finally completed this last weekend. Not the easiest job. Definitely going to need some sort of digital Amazon phone borescope as there isn’t much visual.

Splash guards need to come off, I had to pull my fenders off from where they meet the front door to gain some access.

Did you happen to check the gap between the gasket and the windshield on the driver's side? I figured that mine was leaking from there. I figured the problem is from the plastic piece that was mangled when the PoS dealership replaced my windshield a cpl of years back. Need to contact Konigstiger for the part details.
