car shimmy's in the rear
2007 Mercedes Benz E350
|
So I am new here and don't know if I did that right. I have a E350 wagon, it has a shimmy in what feels to be the rear end of the car. I can let go of the steering wheel and it does not shake or pull in either direction. That is why I believe it is at the rear end of the car. Any suggestions of what it may be? I was thinking possibly a weight I may have lost off of one of the rims?

Move the wheels to the front to test it, assuming front and rears are the same size. If shaking gets worse, then it must be a wheel. Is it speed dependent? It gets worse as the speed goes up? Or there is a specific speed where it is worse? There are a lot of rubber bushings in the rear multi link suspension. As it wears out, the suspension gets looser.

Dragonslady, I would check both flexdisk on the drive shaft.
