New E500 owner questions

hello everyone.

New 2003 E500 owner here. Got the car for a steal but had to replace all the air spring suspension for conventional coil over strut/shocks to make it worth it. But I have a few questions for my fellow w211 owners.

Breakdown. Purchased the touring tech $800 conversion kit on eBay (I would not buy it again) fronts were easy to replace but the ride height is uneven (five finger gap between top of tire and fender) and the rear was a lil harder and had to get an extra person to help. (Rear touring tech shock/strut is garbage soft) so I ended up using the factory strut/shock and just replaced the air spring with the coil spring conversion, but the ride height was perfect. (3 finger gap).

1st question.
Is there front springs that would return my front ride height back to stock, or should I cut half a coil from the front spring?

2nd question.
I want to upgrade the head unit on my car. I’ve read/seen that you can put a newer w211 head unit (which is supposed to be plug and play) but I really want a NAVI unit but I don’t know if I need more parts than just the head unit? Or if there’s BT/Aux plug and play for my 2003 w211?

3rd question.
I had to completely fold down the rear seat to put all my tools and old air spring suspension back into the trunk and now the rear seat bottom doesn’t latch all the way close. Is there a way to close them completely?

thanks in advance yall
Fred

I removed the airmatic suspension with the Arnott Coilover spring conversion kit. I hear Arnott is who originally maufactured the airsprings for benz to begin with needless to say the springs have not given me any problems with ride height, I would check with Arnott regarding their springs for your car and return the kit you got on ebay. Don't shorten the coil springs, you will regret it. May just be that the springs need a break in period to compress.

There are Android based head unit replacements that are made to look just like the stock navigation without looking out of place or too technologically advanced for the car's era. Mimics the buttons and lay out pretty well actually. Comes with BT, Navigation, AUX, bridge internet connection from your phone etc.

My rear seats do not fold, I dont have that option so cant help you there.

You have an 03, there is a myriad of things that you should make sure gets checked out by the dealer. A good amount of recalls and updates for the 03 model year check the sticky thread regarding recalls (fuel leaks, sbc brakes, radiator leaks, balance shaft issues) warranties have been extended in some cases. Aside from that congratulations player you pushin a mercedesssss.!

You can also use struts and coil springs from a non airmatic E320 or E350.

Thanks, it’s raining over here I did a donut here at work and now the power steering is super stiff at idle. But when I rev the RPM’s higher than idle it gets better. I feel like my new car doesn’t like me. Lol
