rear passenger window shade

I owned an 05 with the rear passenger window shades that roll into the door panel until I was rear ended by a Tahoe. I'm shopping newer w211s and I'm finding that a lot of them do not have the passenger window shades the roll into the door panel slot. Is it as simple as finding new door panels that DO have the slotted window shades? IIRC there's also a hook at the top of the door that the shades latch onto. How easy or difficult is it to add this option to any potential w211 I might buy? Any help or links would be greatly appreciated.

Without busting your B. First check the two part numbers in EPC and then you can intelligently make the decision on whats required ..............your way, your blowing SUA and get nowhere

Roller blind left 21181003209B51, right 21181004209B51; bracket both sides (top hook) 2118120414 / screw 0019905122. Requires dedicated door panel in which case VIN of receiving vehicle is needed to match equipment/color.

I added rear blinds to my E55 not long after buying it. It's a pain, getting the new door panels correctly installed, but not impossible. I think I paid $150 or so for both door panels and the upper window surround trim.

Thanks a bunch. So what do I do with that? Hit up the parts department at my nearest dealer with those parts numbers and give them my VIN for the inside door panel?

Thanks so much for the replies guys. I miss my W211 sooooo much, I'm dieing to get a new one and I just love those door panel window shades.

For anyone still interested in this subject, I added rear side window shades to my wagon by swapping the rear door cards. Finding wagon window shades is even harder than sedan. I paid $70 total for the door cards at PnP. The passenger side door cards was damaged by some ape before me (thanks a55hole) trying to get the speaker. To get around the damage I had to disassemble the JY door card by drilling out the plastic melted rivets holding the top half with the window shade from the damaged bottom half. Then I combined it with my own good bottom half using 10 small sheet metal screws and washers. It was time consuming but the results speak for themselves. Other than that the swap is really straight forward. Don't forget the trim around the top of the window that has the hooks. Its fragile so be very careful removing it.

I also installed rear curtains on my E55. I'd been choosing a very long time and eventually settled on sun blinds for the car. Sunblinds are suitable for any car, thanks to the universal style. They are easy to fix, as they have suction cups. These convenient, practical products are attached to the side windows. Sunshades come in a wide variety of materials. But these car sunshades that I chose provide 100% coverage for the rear passenger windows with no gaps for the sun's harmful UV rays to enter. These are the highest quality curtains available on the market, custom-designed for a specific car.
