low beam headlight indicator icon??!

HI, I have a question need to be clarified: I have an 07 E350 (facelifted). I noticed in the black circle area of the tachometer there was an icon/indicator light for low beam. According to user manual, this light/icon should light up when the low beam is turned on. However, for many years now, this icon never lid up??!! The headlight is working properly, no error or warning message. Icarsoft 980 also didnt show any code or error!! I checked youtube videos of the w211.... on some cars this light lid up, some dont!!?? so what should it be?? is the indicator light on my car broken??

On my 06, mine only lights up when a bulb is burnt out. It will also tell you what side is burnt out.

Thanks Mike.... that is interesting.... On my 07, the multi function display in the middle of speedometer will shows if any light bulbs is out. I dont know how the low beam indicator should work, but the manual (page 56) said it should lid up when the low beam is on. On dozens of youtube videos, some light up, some dont!!??

On my '07 E350, the Green Low Beam indicator light on the Tach lights up when my low beams lights are on.

It bothered me too on my 04 E500. I can see it’s there. I spent yesterday a lot of time with DAS trying to find the coding parameter that would switch that indicator on in the Instrument Cluster control unit. The parameters are in German so it’s not easy. I could not find parameters for any of the indicator lights either. Maybe it is a setting in the CGW or the country selection,
I hope the more experienced DAS users would chime with some pointers.
