W211 e55 AMG hearing creaking noise from front

Hey all, I've started noticing a noticeable creaking noise that seems to be coming from the front of the e55 vehicle. I notice it when driving or when going over bumps and I even hear the creaking when I turn off the vehicle and am exiting the car.

anyone know what this may be? It has been near 0 degrees Celsius here could it be more pronounced creaking due to the cold? Is it urgent to fix it right away?

thanks all

also i heard that spraying silicone lube on the bushings would prevent the creaking, has anyone tried this?

Search lower ball joint....

Just a guess, but my ball joints wore out and started making noises. Climbing out of the car and unloading the suspension might cause this. If the noise continues for five minutes. That's a different problem.

Also going with ball joint. They do not last very long. While the car is probably still can be driven, you'll have noise and maybe a looser feeling suspension.

it is making more prominent creaking noises when driving over small bumps and also when i turn the steering wheel when stationary it makes the noise. If its lower ball joints does anyone know the cost for repair? Would I have to do it on each side ? the creaking coming from the front left side

also is it a big issue if its still driven while its creaking?

The vast majority of the cost for this repair is the labor not the parts. Buy the parts yourself and bring them to the Mercedes independent mechanic of your choice.

FCPEuro sells a ball joint kit (upper and lower and one other for each side). The internet sells the W211 ball joint press to push the old ones out and the new ones in. Total cost? About $200 plus one afternoon's worth of time. Your creak will go away, your steering will be tighter, your tires will wear better, and you'll need an alignment.
