Anyone have a part number for the trunk cargo floor cover clip?
I took out the rear cargo cover carpet piece and while it was on the floor i stepped on the rear part where there are two clips. Does anyone have a part number for these? On the broken piece I have PP TV 20 but that pulls up nothing.
Please see attached clip location and cover via online pics. https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mbw...aaac29a64a.jpg https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mbw...e335f6c97a.jpg Thanks, -Nigel |
I do not even have the plastic pieces, only the metal clip.
What is it suppose to do? Does it hold the cover in place, keeping it from sliding? I was wondering what these metal clips were for. Thanks. |
Hear hear. Mine has been busted for years and I think the dealer wants to replace the whole trunk pan. This is a good piece for a small aftermarket manufacturer to make. Peter |
I believe it holds or clips into the rear part of the trunk liner/plastic piece. I don't think they are 100% needed but just knowing that I broke it pisses me off. I have all the pieces so will probably just and epoxy them back together. Called the dealer and they were trying to sell me the entire piece as Peter noted above....ROFL. How silly. No thanks MB.
I'll snap pictures later when I get home of where it clicks/clips into. -Nigel |

Looks like I will be able to salvage the one I broke into 5 pieces.. It's currently in epoxy stage and curing..hhaha
Pics below of where these little clips go into on the back of the trunk. -Nigel https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mbw...2dd40446a3.jpg https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mbw...b690c64c20.jpg |
Still not clear as to what this is all about? To keep the piece from sliding/moving?
My clips are missing, and it does not appear that the piece is moving back there in the trunk. |
I am pretty sure that's what it's for but I think it helps when you have the handle attached to the top of the trunk trim when pulling the spare tire out. I think probably just completely prevents anything from sliding forward. I totally agree I think it wouldn't move forward unless someone really tugged at it while the handle/bottom piece were in the upright position. Every trim piece I've seen on eBay they are all missing. And apparently MB doesn't just sell the silly pieces.

Interesting enough, after reading your post this afternoon Nigel, I went out to the car and searched a bit closer and found the 2 plastic clips, which for some reason were not attached to the trunk liner piece and loose inside the slots in the trunk.
Re-attached them and can confirm that the clips certIainy hold the trunk liner piece in place when attaching the handle to the top. Thanks Nigel. :) |
haha! Nice!
Who knows then, there might be thousands of w211s driving around where those damn plastic pieces are floating around in the car rather than actually broken off...hahaha -Nigel |
