Front bumper metal things! Grrrrr

Hi all,
Today I finished off the job I was doing on my E350.......replacing the headlight covers.
Got everything off and out ok.
When putting the bumper back on though, man what a mission to get that metal clamp thing that holds the bumper and front guard together.
Ihad great difficulty getting the right side back in. Somehow I managed to get it in, took me over half an hour!
The left hand side seemed easier, though it was also a cow to do.

Has anyone else had issues getting them back on, and found an easier way to do it?
I was working on my garage floor with the front of the car lifted and the car sitting on axle stands.
I did not remove the entire inner plastic guard, just pulled away enough to give me access.

I haven't removed my bumper yet but I will be doing this job soon. Found some good videos on YouTube showing how it's done, doesn't seem too bad. I think taking the inner fender liner completely off would make it a lot easier.

Have to say the front of your car looks amazing with those new headlight lenses! Where did you get the LED DRL's? Any pics with them off?

I've recently removed my front bumper and I agree a complete b*tch to do UNLESS you remove both wheels with the car jacked up, and the entire fender liner. Otherwise you can't get s good grip and visual of where the clamp hooks and slides in.

I got them from AliExpress, part of the Alibaba group from China.
They cost me $75.00 NZD approximately.

Thanks, yes I looked at a few YouTube clips as well for the removal. I did see one where the guy did remove the inner wheel arch cover.

Those LED DLR’s were on the car when I bought it, so can’t offer you anything more about them, apart from what the person who had them installed paid to have them done! I have the receipt, which was in the car when I bought it.

Am also going to be changing the headlight covers on my E500. They are not in as bad a condition as the ones on the E350 were, but I might as well change them now as I have another set of covers for this.
Luckily the lenses on my E55 are in good condition and I don’t need to change those as well.
