Diesel CEL Comes On, But Goes Away after Refueling

This is a friend's 2007 E320 Blutec 211.022 with 148K on the clock. Lately, he's been getting check engine light, that goes away after he refuels, even when tank is half full. He took it to a generic INDY, who did his diagnostics using something other than SDS. This is message he got:

1. Diesel Particulate Filter
2. B19 TWC Temp Sensor and B19/9 Temp Sensor Upstream of Diesel Particulate Filter

Is that simply saying to change Particulate Filter? Sorry, I know nothing about diesels. Thanks!

1922 Ford Model T / no OBD
By now you should know we do have dedicated diesel section on the forum
DPF is pretty complex system and having full code number would help to pinpoint the issue.
If the sensor is bad, it needs to be replaced and then regeneration forced.
Sensor is easy accessible from the top, but the plug is buried under MM. Autohousaz seems to have the best price for new one.
He needs to get scanner to monitor those things

Sounds like the issue is with the upstream temp sensor------however, not very much mileage on the rust bucket, I'd take it on the freeway and drive for 50 miles at seventy or better.
