2004 E500 Missing Tranny Tube in Engine Bay (Pictures)
 

I've looked at previous threads of where the tranny tube in the engine bay should be and in my 2004 E500 it is complete missing. I am trying to check the level and I don't know how to check the level or even how to fill it if I could. Here is a picture of a where it should be on the w211. If anyone with experience in this matter could point me in the right direction I would appreciate it. I don't know if I have the 722.6 or the 722.9 7G but I am guessing I have the 722.9 7G following this footnote I found on the transmissions wikipedia page.

Here is where it should be. On my 2004 e500 it is no where to be found in the engine bay under the intake box.

If your E500 is RWD you have a 722.9. 722.9 transmissions don't have a dipstick tube because Mercedes at the time was run by dip****s.

Yea thanks. I was under the impression I had a 722.6 but it appears it is a 722.9 as you mentioned with the TCM built into the god dang conductor plate. So I am guessing there is a pump type contraption to and a special fitting to pump the oil in and then drain the overfill until a small stream is coming out and then seal the pan? I've never done this but I will search around. Thanks again bud!

Obviously you need an adapter ( ) and a pump.

That's one expensive piece of plastic there.
I made my own from parts I had in garage. Turns out the transmission and engine plugs have the same threads, so having spare engine plug - I drilled and taped hole in it.
Than for $8 I bought small pump design for boat out-drives to make a set and threaded its connector to made-up plug.
Small pump takes some time for filling up 8l of ATF, but I am in age when exercise should be appreciated.
The procedure sounds complicated at first, but beside need for old cloths, there is not much in it.
I used infra-red thermometer in the past, what was just OK as transmission was showing different temperature in different points. Now I have iCarsoft who reads temperature from TCU.

I have a 2004 E500 too and I have looked for that part also. I don't know if I have an unusual motor (not) or what but it isn't there. Any resolution on the missing parts?
