2006 E320 CDi front bumper and body parts interchangeability?

Hey folks,

I've been looking for a front bumper for my daughters 2006 E320 Cdi (Not sure if this matters but vin tag says it was made in germany 08/05). The car does NOT have any amg or sport package or headlight washers

So I'm just now learning that bumpers from other cars in the Eclass will work on this car. Does anyone know which or how many models will fit? Doesn't matter to me if the bumpers look different, as long as they bolt up to the same mounting brackets etc. For example, I found a bumper on craigslist from a 2007 E350. It looks different than our bumper but the seller says it will fit.?

Are there any known guides to body part interchangeability among the E211 class?

Thanks

All 2003-2006 bumpers are interchangeable as long as you match up sensor/washer options. The mounting points are the same so you can use the 2007-2009 bumpers as well (with same qualifications), but you'll need a new grille and the longer hood release. The fog lights and lower mesh are not interchangeable, though...so you'll have to get those as well if your new/used bumper didn't have them.

irondad: Thank you very much. This is great info. So the hood is the same for the 2007 - 2009 eclass 211 ? Just the grill is different (and longer release?) I thought the 2007 eclass grill looked different but wasnt sure!

Hood is the same, but the grille is longer and sticks out farther forward, hence the need for the longer release. I've done the facelift bumper on a 2006. It definitely updates the car's look a lot, in my opinion. Here's my parts list (if you're getting a used on it will already have most of these parts):

irondad, great info. Thank you very much.

Its nice to see someone took the time to figure all of this out, and also great that my search for bumper choices is not limited to the 05/06 e320

Thanks again irondad. Greatly appreciate your advice. I went right out and bought all of the bumper parts I needed from an 07 E350. Got a great deal All parts including grill and hoodlatch for $320. Everything matched up. I installed on my daughters 06 E320 cdi and the car looks awesome!

The before picture shown above! 06 E320. Broken/cracked bumper.

The picture above shows the same car after installing bumper and grill from an 07 E320!
