Source for new MB TEX/leather seat upholstery?
After my failed attempt to swap E500 seats to replace the split seats in our E350, I'm looking for a source for MB TEX/leather seat upholstery. The local upholstery shops want 1/4 of the price of the car to re-do the seats. I'm willing to tear down the original seats and replace the upholstery if I can find replacement parts. Does any vendor sell pre-sewn MB TEX/ leather seat covers? Thanks.

MB Tex is vinyl, so first decide which you require.
mercedes dealer can provide replacement coverings. Note: not sure regarding 211 but on 210 if heated seats exist the heating element is part of the seat upholstery, that is not a separate element. |

I actually have an '06 E350. It needs the later style seat cushions in gray. If I could find a pair, I would swap them. I have not found any in good condition. The seat backs are also starting to crack so I will need seat back leather quite soon. I bought E500 seats in attempt to swap the whole seat but realized the early seats are different.

Why not just swap in the E500 seat cushions?

It has heated seats but I'm willing to lose those for a cost effective solution. Ideally the seat cover would include the heating element but we'll deal if it does not. We're in southern California so its rarely that cold.
At this point its a spare car and it would be nice to keep but if I can't figure this and the bluetooth integration out we're getting rid of it. Its really a shame that the interior quality on these is so poor. My wife's family has an E class from the 80s that has seen far worse environmental exposure than the w211 and it looks great in comparison.

try EBay
I just purchased a 2005 e320 cdi which had a drivers seat in rough shape I was able to find the bottom and back with heaters on ebay for $40-60 each. My mechanic installed for $150

There seems to be quite a few seat bottom cushions for the 2005 and earlier cars on ebay but unfortunately much fewer for the 2006 and later cars.

FYI, the E500 seats that I bought in my failed swap attempt are now up for sale in the classified section.

World Upholstery & Trim, Santa Paula, CA, 800-222-9577, are the "go to" guys for all upholstery products; good service, too.
Fact: Replacing any uphostelry sections is labor intensive and requires skill/experience. So, be advised. relinuca |
EBay seller US autonation had perforated grey leather seat bottoms that were a close match and fit my 2004 E320 wagon with dynamic seats. The original leather had developed a few splits. These were a good fit, but had no heated seat elements sewn in, so I treated them as seat covers and fit them over the originals. It takes longer for heat to penetrate the bottom now but I like heated backs better than heated bottoms anyway, so not a problem. Don
