2006 E350 CEL and engine vibrations despite multiple part changes

I have a 2006 E350 that has done 66000 miles. Since start of last year the CEL light came on and off intermittently without other symptoms but start of this year the engine definitely started running rough and with worsening vibrations with flashing CEL so I had the intake manifold replaced as the star scan was showing codes pointing to this. Whilst they were replacing the manifold, one of the failed ignition coils were replaced along with fresh new spark plugs. Picked it up from the mechanic and although it runs smoother, it's still vibrating and throwing a CEL. Any ideas to what else might have gone wrong? Cheers.

You need to post codes! The CEL tells us nothing.

+1. Get the codes scanned and post what they are.

most likely crank shaft position sensor.... cheap and easy to replace

Get on Amazon.com and buy a cheap code reader. That will tell you where to look to fix your problem. Changing the 'intake manifold' may not be the issue. Actually i'm positive it is not the issue because you still have CEL and vibrating engine. Also, make sure you are using either Factory or OEM ignition parts. That includes both the coils and spark plugs. The cheap stuff just doesn't work as good as the original ones. Lastly, go to a mechanic that knows MB cars. Sounds like the one you went to is not familiar with MB.

Dare we say it? Balance shaft? Anyway, can't really say that til we see the codes. Get the BAFX code reader on Amazon. About $23 for the android version and $27 for wifi/iOS. Has over 11k reviews.

hello , someone can help with this codes please ?

W211 2008 ( E350 ) and my engine light came on , now i have 215000 km done , and i checked it with mechanic and the test gave 3 codes :

1. (1208) / Constant adjustment of intake camshaft of right cylinder bank in direction 'Retarded' (P0016).
2. (1200) / Constant adjustment of exhaust camshaft of right cylinder bank in direction 'Advanced' (P0017).
3. (0502) / Component A16/1 (knock sensor 1 , right ) has a short circuit to ground (P0327).

if anyone can help and advise regarding this matter i would really appreciate it .

i also check the MB effected range of the engines , and mine was not one of the effected.

( The car runs fine , but am afraid that it would suddenly stop or have problems )

Thanks in advance.
