2008 Mercedes-Benz E 350
Just bought a 2008 E 350 w/ 104k, your thoughts?
Hi there, brand new to MBworld and new to being Mercedes Benz owner. I purchased a beautiful white on black e350 earlier this week with just under 104k miles. I never thought I would buy a higher mileage MB but I’m a sucker for the 2006-2009 body style on the E class and this was the cleanest well kept one I could find in my area. It was a leased car originally then purchased as a certified pre owned from a dealer close to me, then after they drove it for 9 years I’m lucky owner number 3. I payed $6,900 for the car it has premium package, sport package 18” wheels heated seats and so forth. Do you folks think I got a decent deal? I live very close to work and plan on keeping the miles per year low. Please do share your thoughts and opinions and any advice you might have.

Its virtually identical to my 2009, except mine has the AMG wheels, sills, and F & R bumpers. Plus mine is at 121K miles, and still runs like a top. The 2008-9 are the best of the series. All things considered, mine has had few problems. Here's a list:

- Oil cooler seal
- DSP controller
- small items I can't remember

Looks good - make sure to take a good look at the intake manifold arm, idler pulley, get all the fluids changed, especially transmission and then enjoy it!
also check for inner tire wear, all the 211’s typically begin seeing tire wear from front control arm bushings around 100k. Rears are like most Mb’s and typically will go close to 200k before needing to be replaced
id have no concerns at buying a 2008/2009 E350 as long as it was maintained.

I paid 18.5k for my 2008 about 5 years ago. Standard stuff would be the thermostat, idler pulleys/tensioner/belt, side marker, steering angle sensor, broken wires in the trunk. Did front and rear brakes with Akebono a few years ago. OEM has tons of brake dust, Akebono is practically no dust.

Nice looking car!
My 2008 has passed 105k and is still the highway bully the day I bought it (59,000k).

Congrats....My advise would be just keep it clean! You'll feel better about your ride in the long run. Just my humble opinion. See you on the HOV lines.
