Hi all ran diagnostics on my 2003 E240 w211 this afternoon to check on the brake warnings on the dash and I got the code C228F A7/3n1 SBC control unit internal fault. is this fault that can be cleared without replacing any parts or will I have to order up a new sbc control unit and replace it, also is it a unplug and replace or will the new one need to be programmed to suit the car ? Many thanks in advance for any help or advice
If you are in the United States, it is covered under the 25-year unlimited-mileage warranty.
If not in the United States, you are going to have to purchase a rebuilt version (multiple part numbers for the unit as it was upgraded over the years; search this forum under the user name Konigstiger). No programming needed but STAR will be needed to properly bleed the system.
Sadly I'm in the UK where MB seem to not want to cover the cost of a replacement under warranty. Oddly my diagnostics show that the pump is running fine and the pressure within the system is ok and holding fine I take it the electronic side of this unit can be swapped out separate or is it a complete unit
