I received the alert shown in the photo below. It would normally come on mid-ride and without any text explanation I had no idea what it meant. Turned out, the radiator fan wasn't engaging. I eventually figured this out and would notice it often correlated with slight increases in engine temperatures.
I read a ton of posts here and elsewhere that said all the things it could be... fuses here or there.
I took a swing and replaced the fan assembly (fan+motor+shroud) with a used one I got on ebay and it has been working just fine for a few thousand miles now.
Note for anyone doing this, you will likely lose more than just a little engine coolant, so be ready to replace it. If it helps, I used Zerex G05, which is supposedly the same as Mercedes blue, though not the same color.
