Comand APS NGT 2.5 Head ???
I've been searching everywhere for an answer to My 2009 W211 head unit issue.
I live in Canada and drive a Canadian 2009 MB E-Class 350 4-Matic. A CD got jammed into slot 2 and could not be removed which caused all kinds of issues, so I looked everywhere for a used replacement as new the price is 5K CDN. There were none to be had in my area,so I started looking in Washington State and found the exact unit at a wrecking yard. I installed the unit and all is good with the exception of the GPS which thinks it is still in WA. It is basically lost so navigating is a no go. I took the car into the Mercedes Dealer and was told the head units have anti-theft and are coded to a specific VIN and will not work properly unless one has the PIN Code. Apparently this PIN code is supposed to be extracted before removing the Comand. The radio, DVD player and MP3 Disc player function normally. GPS Not.. They also said there is a good chance the unit may shut down completely in the near future leaving me with a BRICK.
The Bluetooth is not great either, but it was malfunctioning with the old head unit. Looking for a solution to that as well..
I'm at a loss and hope that there are some very smart people on this forum that might have a solution.

If you know the VIN of the donor vehicle any MB dealer should be able to look up the PIN. Obviously they will need proof that the radio was purchased legally. I have also seen websites that claim they can supply the PIN based on the radio serial number.
