Minor annoyances with car
Well, after owning my car for 3 months now, Ive had time to get to know my car pretty well. Although I love may car and am very happy with it, here is a list of little annoying things that Ive never experienced with other cars with similar options:
Headrest moves up on its own when moving the seat either foward or backwards
Annoying fan noise when A/C is turned to max cool.
Brake feel and noise.
Backup mirror function and dynamic seat function seem to have a mind of their own and lose memory at times.
Cupholder...(Probably the most annoying thing) 1 CUP?? What about my passenger?
Thats about it...All in all a great car and I couldnt have made a better choice

Now the cupholder, you didn't know that the 'hole' the cupholder pops up from is YOUR cupholder? It looks like only 1 cupholder pops up, but there's really two.

Another minor annoyance
I bought a 2004 E320 Wagon about a month ago, and have to agree with your list. But, let me add another one. No left footrest.
Still very happy with my choice though.

Totally agree with your list. The brakes work great but they never have a consistent feel when braking - pretty darn annoying.
The passenger mirror tilt-down feature should have a toggle switch where you can easily activate/deactivate it (like in my Audi). I used that feature alot in my Audi, but don't want it on all the time.

..the 'toggle switch' would be the driver/passenger side mirror selector.. the tilt-down feature will not function (activate) unless the passenger side mirror button is pressed in.

I don't want to revive a dead horse that's been dispatched several times over, but on UK W211s, do the steering wheel buttons select the radio presets from the head unit, or just the next strong signal in sequence?

Not sure if there is a way of setting them on the wheel but the just select the NEXT strong signal, that is so damn annoying when you have to reach for the console buttons...whats the point of putting them on the wheel...maybe there is a way.....of doing this...

I've noticed the headrest movement with the seat on two W211's. Thought it was a standard feature, that I don't really care for. The cupholders are a bad design, period. Strangely, I never felt that the brakes were that bad at all, and found no problems regulating them properly. Now the vibration is a different story.
It also does seem kind of stupid that the light switch is not lit, especially when so many other switches in the car are lit. Also, why is the seat control unlit?

I wish the driver's side seat controller can control the passenger's seat also. I hate driving around with the tall headrest.

I wasn't aware of that. I asked the salesman about it specifically and he said there wasn't one. I guess he didn't RTFM.

[QUOTE=Rudegar]The A/C comment interests me because mine doesn't blow hard enough. I commented to my wife that its too quiet when on full blast.
QUOTE]
The fan noise that everone refers to as being too noisy is not the A/C blower fan inside the car, but rather the electric fan strapped to the radiator which kicks on when the A/C "Max Cool" lights up in the A/C controls. The fact that you don't hear either one is a testament to the build quality/sound deadening of the car. ...Outside, however, the radiator fan is scary noisy.

AHA! Yes, now I see what they are referring too. And yes, I have assumed that since the car cools down, the fact is that the AC is effective with less noise. As to the fan racket outside, it is annoying -- but I think it may scare away moose (and maybe pedestrians coming too close at cross-walks)!
